Flags are at full staff.

Governor Katie Hobbs has ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, November 25, 2023, in honor of Sgt. Andrew Southard, of the U.S. Army Special Operations Forces, elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, and one of the casualties in the November 10 helicopter crash during a training mission in the Mediterranean Sea.    "It is with profound sadness that we learned Sergeant Andrew Southard, of the United States Army Special Operations Forces, was one of the victims in the November 10 helicopter crash during a training mission in the Mediterranean Sea. We stand proud of his service and support his family and friends, along with the other victims of this horrible tragedy," said Governor Katie Hobbs.

In coordination with the Presidential proclamation, Governor Hobbs has ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff immediately through sunset October 30, 2023 in honor of the victims of the tragedy in Lewiston, Maine.

In coordination with the Presidential proclamation, Governor Hobbs has ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff immediately until sunset on day of interment, October 5, as a mark of respect for the memory of Senator Dianne Feinstein, who passed away Thursday night.

Governor Katie Hobbs ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff on September 11, in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 innocent men and women who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.Governor Katie Hobbs issued the following statement: “Today, we lower flags in honor of the 2,977 who lost their lives on 9/11. Governor Katie Hobbs has ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half staff from sunrise to sunset Thursday, August 24, 2023 in honor of IRS Special Agent Patrick Bauer, who died after being shot during a training incident at a firing range last Thursday.   

“The loss of Special Agent Patrick Bauer is felt across the multiple agencies he dedicated his life and career to,” said Governor Katie Hobbs. “As a former Arizona National Guardsman, he served our state with honor and dignity, characteristics he continued to embody as a federal IRS agent. I want to extend my sincere condolences to his family, friends and community. His service will forever be remembered.”
