Flags are at half-staff today.
Governor Katie Hobbs has ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff until sunset on June 9 in honor of Officer Gabriel Facio. Officer Facio passed away on June 8 after being shot in the line of duty on June 2.
“I’m devastated by Officer Facio’s passing. My heart goes out to his family, the Apache Junction Police Department and fellow law enforcement,” said Governor Hobbs.
The three-year veteran of the Apache Junction Police Department leaves behind a wife, two children and a grandchild.

Governor Ducey has ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Wednesday, January 10, 2018 to honor the life of Specialist Robert W. Jones, of Vail, Arizona, who died Saturday while on assignment in Kosovo. Specialist Jones was a member of the 18th Military Police Brigade, of the United States Army, based in Germany.
Flags will also be flown at half-staff on the day of his interment which will be communicated as soon as possible.

The Governor released the following statement, "Our deepest prayers are with Las Vegas, all those killed and injured, and their families. We especially pray for all Arizonans impacted by this tragic shooting. This incredible loss of life will be felt by Americans everywhere. It's important that the victims, their families and our brave first responders have the support they need. As we learn more details, the State of Arizona stands ready to assist our neighbors in Nevada in any way we can."
