Flags are at full staff.

Governor Brewer has ordered that flags at state offices to be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, July 2, 2011 from sunrise to sunset to honor Sgt. Curley who was shot in the line of duty on Saturday, June 25, 2011.  Sergeant Cervanez Curley was shot on Saturday night while responding to a domestic dispute between two brothers in the small town of Kaibito just south of Page, Arizona, on the reservation.  Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

Governor Brewer has ordered that flags at all state offices be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, July 9, 2011 from sunrise until sunset in honor of SSgt. Stacy. Governor Brewer previously ordered the flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Wednesday, June 29, 2012 in honor of SSGT. Stacy who died on June 28, 2011, in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

Governor Brewer has ordered that flags at state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Sunday, July 31, 2011, in honor of Fort Apache Interagency Hotshot crewmember Classay.  Mr. Classay died on July 24 while fighting a wildfire on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation near Whiteriver.  Mr. Classay was a member of the elite Fort Apache Hotshot wildland firefighting team for 22 years – one of only seven all-Native American, interagency hotshot crews in the nation.  Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

Governor Brewer has ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on September 11, 2011, as an expression of respect and honor for the victims of September 11, 2001, and their families and for all the men and women of Arizona who have bravely served and continue to serve our Nation in the fight against terrorism.  Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

In recognition of Fire Prevention Week (October 9-October 15) and in accordance with Public Law 107 51, the President has ordered that the flag of the United States be flown at half-staff on all Federal office buildings in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.

Governor Brewer has also requested that the flags at all offices and facilities of the state of Arizona be flown at half-staff on Sunday, October 16, 2011 in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.
