Governor Brewer has ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, March 30, 2013 in honor of Special Warfare Operator Chief Brett D. Shadle, a member of Navy SEAL Team 6, who was killed Thursday during a parachute training exercise in southern Arizona when he and another SEAL collided in midair. Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

Governor Brewer previously ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in honor of Officer Huffman. Officer Huffman, a 14-year veteran of the DPS Yuma Office, was killed Monday, May 6, 2013 while investigating an accident on Interstate 8 near the Yuma foothills. Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.
