Flags are at full staff.
Governor Ducey has ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset Tuesday, September 5, 2017, in honor of US Army Staff Sergeant Emil Rivera-Lopez who died in a helicopter crash off the coast of Yemen. Sergeant Rivera-Lopez was from Tucson.
Flags will also be flown at half-staff on the day of his interment which will be communicated as soon as possible.
Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

As a tribute to the 21,183 law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice throughout U.S. history, government agencies, businesses and residents are to fly their U.S. flags at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Monday, May 15, 2017 for National Peace Officers Memorial Day.

In coordination with the Presidential Proclamation, all flags should be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Thursday, April 6th, 2017 for the final interment of John Glenn. Glenn, who died in December, will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
