Half Staff Notifications
Governor Brewer ordered that flags at state offices be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, May 15, 2011 in observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day.
In accordance with a Presidential proclamation, Peace Officers Memorial Day is observed in conjunction with Police Week, May 15-21, and is held in honor of all federal, state and local law enforcement officers killed or disabled in the line of duty.
Gov. Brewer encourages individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in this tribute.

Governor Brewer has ordered that flags at state offices be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday, May 20, 2011 in honor of Agents Clark and Rojas. Governor Brewer previously ordered the flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset May 12, 2011 in honor of Agents Rojas and Clark who died May 12 after their SUV was struck by a train near Interstate 8 in the Gila Bend area. Agents Rojas and Clark were assisting other officials in pursuing a group of suspected drug smugglers. Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

Frank Bryant, Jr. Governor Brewer previously ordered the flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on April 29, 2011 in honor of Lt. Col. Bryant who was killed in the line of duty on April 27, 2011, during his deployment as an air advisor to the 438th Air Expeditionary Advisor Group in Kabul, Afghanistan. Lt. Col. Bryant was assigned to the 56th Operations Group at Luke Air Force Base. Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

Governor Brewer has ordered that flags at state offices be lowered to half -staff on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from sunrise to sunset in honor of PFC. Johnson who died May 27 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan. PFC Johnson died of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire.
