Half-Staff Notification
Governor Ducey has ordered that flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff immediately until sunset Monday, June 11 to honor the life of Staff Sergeant Alexander W. Conrad who died on June 9, 2018 in support of Operation Octave Shield in Somalia. Flags will also be lowered on the day of internment, which has not been set.
"The prayers and hearts of all of Arizona are with the family and loved ones of Staff Sergeant Conrad. He made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of his country, and we are forever grateful," said Governor Ducey. "In honor of Staff Sergeant Conrad's life and service, I've ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff effective immediately."
Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

In coordination with the Presidential Proclamation, Governor Doug Ducey today ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered tohalf-staff immediately until sunset, Tuesday, May 22nd in honor of the victims of the Sante Fe, Texas shooting.
"Arizona's prayers, support, and deepest sympathies are with the Santa Fe High School community following today's tragic and heartbreaking event," said Governor Ducey. “Our hearts are with the family members of the victims and all those affected. In honor and remembrance of the victims, flags at all state buildings will be lowered to half-staff immediately until sunset on Tuesday, May 22nd.”

Governor Ducey has ordered that flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until noon on Monday, May 28, 2018, in honor of Memorial Day and the service members who have died for our country. The flags should then be raised to full-staff at noon.

Governor Doug Ducey ordered that flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Monday, April 30, 2018 to honor the life of fallen Nogales Police Officer Jesus Cordova. Flags will also be lowered on the day of Officer Cordova’s interment, which has not been set.
“Officer Cordova was a dedicated public servant and Arizona mourns his loss. This tragedy reminds us of the sacrifices that police officers make daily to keep our communities safe,” said Governor Ducey. “My prayers and condolences go out to Officer Cordova’s family and loved ones and the entire Nogales community. In honor of Officer Cordova’s life and service, I’ve ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff on Monday.”

In coordination with the Presidential Proclamation, Governor Ducey has ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff immediately until sunset on Saturday, April 21, the day of interment, for former First Lady Barbara Bush who passed away yesterday.
The Governor released this statement, "Barbara Bush will always be remembered as a true American treasure. She was a tireless advocate for family literacy -- often referred to as the First Lady of Literacy. Her legacy of service and passion for improving the lives of others will leave a lasting impact not only in the United States but across the world. Our prayers go out to President George H.W. Bush and the entire Bush family.”
