Half-staff in honor of Arizona National Guard Captain Juston Doherty

Governor Ducey has ordered that flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Monday, July 9 to honor the life of Captain Juston Doherty, who passed away Saturday, July 7 while on weekend drills with the Arizona National Guard. Capt. Juston Doherty was a Train Assess and Counsel (TAC) Officer at the 215th Regional Institute where he developed officer candidates into commissioned officers. He entered military service in 1996 and was commissioned as an infantry officer in the Arizona National Guard in 2008. He served two combat tours, one in Iraq in 2003, and one in Afghanistan in 2013. He completed airborne school in 2009 and Ranger school in 2010. Flags will also be lowered on the day of interment, which has not been set.Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.
