Governor Doug Ducey has ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on May 8, 2021, for the interment of Chandler Police Officer Christopher Farrar, who was killed in the line of duty on April 29, 2021.

Governor Doug Ducey ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff until sunset today, April 30, 2021, to honor Chandler Police Officer Christopher Farrar, who was killed in the line of duty last night.
“Law enforcement personnel like Officer Christopher Farrar put their lives on the line to protect others and keep our communities safe,” said Governor Ducey. “We are incredibly heartbroken that a criminal’s senseless actions took his life and injured other innocent people. An 18-year veteran of the Chandler Police Department, Officer Farrar was a hero through and through, and his commitment to protecting Arizonans was unwavering. My sincerest condolences go to Officer Farrar’s loved ones, the Chandler Police Department, and the entire law enforcement community during this difficult time. Arizona will continue to pray for those who suffered injuries due to this tragic crime. In honor of Officer Farrar’s life and service, I have ordered flags be lowered to half-staff.”

In coordination with the Presidential proclamation, Governor Doug Ducey has ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff immediately until sunset on April 20, 2021 to honor the eight people murdered and several injured in the shooting that took place in Indianapolis, Indiana on the night of Thursday, April 15. “Last night, an evil act of violence took the lives of eight people and wounded several others,” said Governor Ducey. “Arizona stands with the families of the victims and the entire Indianapolis community at this tragic time, and we send our deepest condolences. I’ve ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff in remembrance and honor of the eight innocent lives lost.”Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

In coordination with President Biden’s proclamation, Governor Doug Ducey today ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff until sunset on April 6, 2021 to honor United States Capitol Police Officer William F. Evans, who was killed in the line of duty defending the U.S. Capitol from an attack Friday.
“Arizona joins our nation in mourning the loss of Officer William F. Evans, who tragically lost his life defending the U.S. Capitol,” said Governor Ducey. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Evans’s family, friends and colleagues. We are also praying for the recovery of the second officer injured today. I’ve ordered flags be lowered to half-staff to honor Officer Evans’s life and the sacrifice he made in service to the public.” Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

Governor Doug Ducey today ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff until sunset on March 22, 2021 to honor the eight victims of the shooting that took place in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area on Tuesday, March 16.
“This week, eight people lost their lives to a senseless and heinous act of violence,” said Governor Ducey. “This attack was abhorrent, and Arizona stands with Atlanta at this difficult time. We send our prayers and deepest condolences to the Atlanta community and the loved ones of those who died. I’ve ordered flags be lowered to half-staff to honor the eight innocent lives lost.”
The Governor’s half-staff order is in coordination with President Biden’s proclamation.
