Governor Brewer has ordered that flags at all the state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, in remembrance of the victims of September 11, 2001, and their families and for all the men and women of Arizona who have bravely served and continue to serve our Nation in the fight against terrorism. Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

President Obama has issued that the flag of the United States be flown at half-staff at the White House and at all public buildings and grounds from September 12 through Sunday, September 16, 2012 in honor of the American personnel killed in the attack in Benghazi, Libya, including United States Ambassador, John Christopher Stevens. Individual, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.

Governor Brewer has ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Tuesday, September 18, 2012, in honor of Lt. Col. Raible and Sgt. Atwell. They were stationed at the MCAS Yuma, Arizona, and died September 15th while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Governor Brewer previously ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Wednesday, September 19, in honor of Cochise County Sheriff Larry Albert Dever who was killed in a car crash near the Town of Williams on September 18th. In recognition of Fire Prevention Week (October 7-October 13) and in accordance with Public Law 107 51, the President has ordered that the flag of the United States be flown at half-staff on all federal office buildings from sunrise to sunset Sunday, October 7, 2012 in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service. Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.
